Stems per Bunch: 20, 40 or 80 stems

Odessa

Odessa is a near-black deep purple calla lily, sold in 20, 40 or 80 stems on 50 cm stems. What looks like a petal is actually a single spathe — one modified leaf curled into a trumpet around a slim central spadix — carried on a smooth, leafless stem. That one clean line is why callas work in modern and minimal designs where a ruffled flower would be too much. Odessa is the darkest flower in the catalogue, deep enough to read as black in most light and only showing its purple in direct sun. Callas carry no scent, arrive fully formed rather than in bud, and hold 10 to 12 days in shallow water. PetalDriven ships calla lilies farm-direct and overnight anywhere in the US with free shipping, unarranged and ready to process, at wholesale prices with no tax ID required.

Shipping Info

  • Free US shipping on every order.
  • Ships FedEx Priority Overnight for next-day delivery.
  • Pick your delivery date on the calendar when you add calla lilies to your cart. The calendar shows the next available date.
  • Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday. We recommend Tuesday–Thursday, since a Friday arrival leaves no working day to sort out a problem before a weekend event.
  • Callas arrive fully formed rather than in bud, so they need no opening time. Schedule delivery 1–2 days before your event and they are ready to design with the day they land.
  • Callas arrive boxed and unarranged, with no signature required. The spathes mark easily, so plan to have someone there to unpack them gently rather than leaving the box sitting.

Care and Processing Instructions

  1. Unbox as soon as they arrive and handle them by the stem, not the bloom. A calla spathe is a single smooth surface, and a thumbprint or crease shows on it the way it never would on a ruffled flower.
  2. Fill the vase with only 2–3 inches of water. This is the one rule that matters most with callas. The stems are fleshy and hollow-ish rather than woody, and in deep water they go soft, split and curl at the base within a day.
  3. Cut about 1 inch off each stem at an angle with a sharp knife. Blunt shears crush a calla stem instead of cutting it, and a crushed stem can't drink.
  4. Strip nothing — calla stems are leafless, so there is no foliage to remove.
  5. Change the water every day and recut every other day. Soft stems foul water fast, and dirty water is what starts the curling.
  6. Keep them indoors in a cool spot away from heaters, air conditioning drafts, and direct sunlight.
  7. Expect some natural curve in the stems. Callas bend toward light and keep moving in the vase; designers generally treat that as the point of the flower rather than a fault.
  8. For bouquet work, callas wire well. If you're wiring, do it the day of rather than days ahead, since the stems keep growing and shifting.

100% Satisfaction Guarantee

Every calla lily order is backed by PetalDriven's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If your flowers arrive damaged or in poor condition, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos and your order number, and we'll make it right with a refund or exchange.

Some curve in the stem is normal and is not a defect. So is a slight green tint at the base of the spathe on white varieties — that is the flower's natural colouring, not a sign of age.

Email info@petaldriven.com or call 1-888-738-2529. To qualify, get your flowers into shallow water as soon as they arrive and follow the care instructions above. Claims submitted without photos or after the 48-hour window can't be accepted, and natural variation in colour or spathe size isn't considered damage. See our full refund policy.

Your flowers will arrive in a floral box, wrapped up in a protective paper or plastic sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • First unwrap the flowers and give them some room to breathe. They’ve just made a long trip so don’t worry if they look like they’re a little sleepy- just think of how you would feel after getting off an international flight!
  • Have a bucket or vase with a few inches of water ready, and remove any foliage on the stems that might fall below the water line.
  • The next step is to cut the stems with floral shears or a sharp knife about 1 inch from the bottoms. It’s always best to cut them at an angle, so that the flowers have even more space to drink from- water is their best friend!
  • Then, simply place them in the water, and keep them indoors in a cool, dry place away from any heaters, air conditioning drafts, or direct sunlight and you’re ready to go!
  • We recommend allowing the flowers to hydrate for at least 4-6 hours before starting to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • Typically we recommend that our customers have their flowers arrive a few days prior to their event in order to give them the opportunity to hydrate and start to open so they can look perfect for showtime!

Your roses will arrive in a floral box, wrapped up in a protective cardboard or paper sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • For roses, we recommend keeping them in their cardboard during the first phase of hydration.
  • We recommend allowing the flowers to hydrate for at least 6-24 hours before removing the cardboard to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • Once they are removed from the packaging, gently remove any excess foliage, and begin to carefully peel off the outer "guard" petals of the roses, which can be identified by a thicker petal and possibly some green color toward the base of the petal.
  • Typically we recommend that our customers have their flowers arrive a few days prior to their event in order to give them the opportunity to hydrate and start to open so they can look perfect for showtime!

Succulents are surprisingly easy and fun to care for and propogate!

Your succulents will arrive in a floral box, wrapped with protective paper or bubble wrap.

For use as a rooted plant:

  • If you would like for your succulents to root, once removed from the box, place your succulents directly on any natural surface, such as soil, rocks, wood, moss, or just about anything else!
  • Next, give them a few spritzes of water from a spray bottle 2-3 times per week.
  • Within about a week or so, you will start to see roots beginning to poke out of the bottom of the succulent
  • Take a moment and congratulate yourself on becoming an official succulent grower!

If you are using your succulents in a floral design or bouquet, we recommend the pick method:

  • Turn your succulent upside down so that you can see the round base at the bottom
  • Take a sharp pointed pick like a bamboo skewer (or even a toothpick for smaller succulents) and line it up with the circular base at the bottom of the succulent
  • Applying some pressure, start twisting the pick into the base of the succulent so that you pierce the bottom and insert the pick firmly into the base of the succulent
  • Now that you've got your "succulent in a stick", you can insert it into any bouquet or floral design for a gorgeous desert chic look

Your greens will arrive in a floral box, and may be wrapped up in a protective paper or plastic sleeve. Once you open the box:

  • First unwrap the greens and give them some room to breathe.
It’s always best to cut them at an angle, so that the greens have even more space to drink from- water is their best friend!
  • Then, simply place them in the water, and keep them indoors in a cool, dry place away from any heaters, air conditioning drafts, or direct sunlight and you’re ready to go! We recommend allowing the greens to hydrate for at least 4-6 hours before starting to work with them, but the more time the better.
  • We typically recommend ordering your greens to arrive 2-3 days before your event, although since greens typically have a longer shelf life than flowers (7-14 days), you can also order them to be delivered earlier with no worries.

Your Dried Flowers will arrive ready to use. Please note that dried flowers can be extremely delicate and it is completely normal for some shedding to occur during shipment. Upon receiving your flowers please:

  • Do not place in water.
  • Handle with care.
  • Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
